In the beautiful tour of the Palaces of Corfu, we drive from the city of Corfu and along the bay of Garitsa to the area of Paleopolis, the ancient city of Corfu and the Palace Mon Repo. Sir Adam, the British Commissioner of the Ionian Islands, erected the mansion as a present to his lovely Corfiot wife, Mrs Palatianou, between 1828 and 1831. It was given to King George A' of Greece as a gift in 1864, and it was used by the local royal family for big parties with their royal friends from all over the world until 1967.
